Recap Numbers Meeting 2025 – What Really Counts Is Who You Share It With

The Numbers Meeting 2025 began with mixed emotions. At short notice, our friends from Finland had to cancel their attendance, which we very much regretted. All the more delighted were we to welcome three guests from Bergen, Norway. It quickly became clear that a Numbers Meeting is not defined by the size of the group, but by the shared experiences.

Friday evening provided the perfect start. We kicked things off together in a rooftop bar overlooking Hamburg, easing into the weekend in a relaxed atmosphere. From there, we moved on to Altes Mädchen, where great food and excellent beer soon led to lively and in-depth conversations.

The night continued in a craft beer bar with shuffleboard, where things became increasingly competitive, energetic and – as the evening progressed – rather cheerful. Thomas and Johannes in particular demonstrated impressive skills “at the glass” before the night took on a momentum of its own.

At some point, we lost Thomas – at least temporarily. What initially caused a brief moment of confusion quickly turned into a very Hamburg-style story: Thomas spent a wonderful night filled with hospitality, open doors and new encounters. The next morning (or late lunch?), he returned safe and sound, in great spirits and with a broad smile – and several new stories to tell.

Saturday morning began accordingly at a gentle pace. Only a few participants made it to breakfast, so the planned cycling tour was significantly shortened. Nevertheless, the smaller group set off and made a spontaneous stop by the Alster. With glorious weather, good conversations and a relaxed mood, a similarly spontaneous decision emerged: why not head to the Hofbräuhaus?

No sooner said than done. Completely unplanned, we found ourselves right in the middle of the early Oktoberfest celebrations. Surrounded by steins, music and high spirits, we joined in the festivities – a wonderful blend of Bavarian joie de vivre, northern German calm and Norwegian enthusiasm. The “journey” was well worth it in every sense.

Afterwards, we continued on to Brauhaus Gröninger. Alongside great food and animated discussions, Thomas also took the opportunity for a small, well-earned nap to briefly process the events of the previous night. A true professional ;)

At 6:00 pm, a real highlight awaited us: a private harbour cruise through the Port of Hamburg, including the Speicherstadt and the Blue Port. Seen from the water, Hamburg revealed itself in a special light – impressive, relaxed and the perfect moment to reflect together on everything we had experienced so far.

Saturday evening then took us to the Kiez. At the Draft Haus, we stayed far longer than planned at karaoke. By this point, all barriers had disappeared: chance encounters turned into new friendships with people from across Europe and the United Kingdom. Whether off-key performances or unexpected vocal talents, the atmosphere was joyful, warm and completely unrestrained.

For some, however, the night was not over yet. A late visit to Pearls rounded off the evening and once again showed that Hamburg still has plenty to offer after dark.

Sunday finally provided the perfect conclusion. At Brücke 10, we enjoyed a true Hamburg farewell brunch – classic fish sandwiches, a view of the water and plenty of final conversations. A relaxed, sincere goodbye that could not have been more fitting.

Even though not everything went according to plan, the Numbers Meeting 2025 became an intense, personal and unforgettable experience. The cancellation by the Finns, spontaneous decisions, small escapades and many unplanned moments made this weekend exactly what it was: authentic, warm-hearted and unmistakably Round Table.

Tusen takk to our friends from Bergen – and see you at the next Numbers Meeting!

Numbersmeeting?

The Round Table Numbers Meeting is an exclusive gathering for members of the 69th Round Table Clubs, bringing together clubs from various countries. This event is based on the shared table number and provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen both national and international friendships.

The location of the Numbers Meeting changes annually, with the host clubs preparing diverse programs. In addition to informal meetups and exchanging ideas about shared service projects, social events play a key role in strengthening the bond among members. Traditionally, there are formal dinners where the unique connection between participants is celebrated.

The Numbers Meeting not only solidifies personal connections but also promotes the Round Table ideals of friendship, international understanding, and social engagement. It serves as a platform for discussing societal challenges and developing ideas for future projects that can improve life within communities.
